The short version

This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and loads nothing from third-party servers. Your browser talks to lab.enricolorenzoni.eu and to nobody else. There is no tracking here, which is why there is no cookie banner.

What is stored on your device

Two small values, both written by the page itself and both purely cosmetic:

  • pref-theme — records your choice if you use the light/dark theme switch.
  • menu-scroll-position — remembers how far the navigation menu was scrolled sideways, so it does not jump back on narrow screens.

Neither value ever leaves your browser. They are not sent to any server, they are not readable by anyone else, and they identify nothing about you. They exist only so the site does not forget how you left it.

Under PECR regulation 6, storing information on your device requires consent unless it is strictly necessary to provide a service you explicitly requested. Interface preferences of this kind — written only in response to something you did, holding no identifier and leaving no trace beyond your own browser — fall within that exemption, so no consent prompt is shown. You can clear them at any time through your browser’s site-data controls.

Server logs

This site is a set of static files hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare acts as processor and records standard technical log data when a page is served, including IP address, timestamp, requested URL, user agent and referrer.

  • Purpose: delivering the site, plus security and abuse prevention.
  • Lawful basis: legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR — operating a website securely.
  • Retention: logs are held by Cloudflare under its own retention schedule; this site keeps no separate copy and no separate database.
  • International transfers: Cloudflare, Inc. is based in the United States and is certified under the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

I do not use this log data to build profiles, and I have no means of identifying individual visitors from it.

What this site does not do

  • No cookies of any kind
  • No analytics, no tracking pixels, no fingerprinting
  • No advertising and no ad networks
  • No web fonts loaded from Google or any other external host — typefaces come from your operating system
  • No embedded videos, no social widgets, no comment system
  • No newsletter, no accounts, no contact form, no data collected from you directly

If any of this changes, this page changes first.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access your personal data, and to rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability. In practice there is very little to exercise these against, since the only personal data connected to this site is the server log data described above.

If you are unhappy with how your data has been handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, or by calling 0303 123 1113.
